The second instalment of the ASNSW’s Introduction to Astronomy Course (I2A) will run over six weeks from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on Monday nights from 5th August 2013 to 9th September 2013 inclusive. There is no need to have attended any previous I2A courses as each one runs independently.

Learn lots about the Electromagnetic Spectrum and light. Delve into some basics of Cosmology. Experiment with Optics and find out how your eyes and telescopes actually work. A little basic maths will be used to demonstrate the Physics of Space Travel (no mathematical background necessary). Hold onto your hats - or your corner of spacetime - for a foray into Relativity (mostly Special, but touching on General as well). Astrobiology is the name given to the science of looking for life beyond Earth - find out how scientists are currently attempting to do this.
