The ASNSW's "Young Writer Award" Writing Competition

Background

The Astronomical Society of New South Wales (ASNSW) Young Writer Award is a competition for talented students interested in astronomy. The competition is open to all NSW school students from Year 8 to Year 11 and is designed to encourage students to write articles on astronomy for publication in the ASNSW’s "Universe" journal.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to one overall winner and two runners up. The winner will receive:

  • The ASNSW Young Writer medal;
  • A $200 gift certificate for the Binocular and Telescope Shop;
  • Publication of their article in the ASNSW's Universe Magazine;
  • A one year membership to the ASNSW.

    The two runners up will receive:

  • A certificate from the ASNSW;
  • Publication of their article in the ASNSW's Universe Magazine;
  • A one year membership to the ASNSW
