This page answers some frequently-asked questions about Star Party registrations, payments, late registrations, cancellations and refunds. Note that we will not be allowing any on-site registrations.
Please look through the FAQs below and, hopefully, you will find the answer you are looking for.
Any further queries should be directed to the Treasurer.

Q1. How do I know if I have registered?

A. You will receive a confirmation email from "starparty@asnsw.com" when you have successfully registered. The subject line will begin with: "Registration Confirmation".

Q2. I have already registered, but I want to add another family member.

A. You need to email the Treasurer and request to have the name added to your family's registration.

Q3. I have already registered my family, but now I want to register and pay for our friends.

A. You can't add non-family members to your own registration. You can easily register someone else. Simply log out of the site, navigate to the registration page with the menus and register your friends. The system should allow you to use your own email address for confirmation purposes. You will also be able to pay for your friends online using PayPal (you will get the emailed receipt), or you can choose "Pay Later" if you want to forward the emailed invoice to them.

Q4. I thought I had registered and paid with PayPal, but I didn't get a confirmation email. What went wrong?

A. If you pay using PayPal, it's possible that you didn't complete all the necessary steps and the registration didn't complete. After you process the transaction in PayPal it should return you to the ASNSW website. Then you need to work through the rest of the steps (telling us about other family members that you are registering) and click "Continue" or "Confirm" at the bottom. If NOT done properly, the transaction remains incomplete and your account is not charged (PayPal ignores it). If completed fully, you should receive two confirmation emails to your registered email address - one from PayPal and one from the ASNSW website.

Q5. I chose to "Pay Later". How does that work?

A. Your confirmation email will have bank account details and a postal address. You can pay by direct bank transfer or cheque/money order. Payments by post take up to 45 days to process. Direct transfer is better, if you have online banking. If you come to the Star Party and the treasurer has not received your payment, you will be asked to pay at the Registration Desk when you check in.

Q6. It says registrations have closed or the event is full. Can I still register?

A. This will depend on numbers. Registrations are cut off at 300 persons, as this is the capacity of the site. If this limit has not been reached, you MAY be able to register by contacting the Treasurer. Supply of T-shirts and roast dinners will also depend on the online registration numbers. You are much better off registering early so that you don't risk missing out. NOTE: WE ARE NOT ALLOWING ANY ON-SITE REGISTRATIONS, so if you have not successfully registered in advance, you will be refused entry.

Q7. I contacted the treasurer a couple of days ago and now the website says that the event is full. Will I still be able to come?

A. If the treasurer noted your details and said that you were registered, you have already been included in the numbers, so you should come.

Q8. I registered and paid, but can't come. Can I get a refund?

A. Our policy is to allow refunds if you notify the treasurer before the cut-off date for online registrations. After that date, it depends on circumstances. If you just changed your mind or don't show up, a refund is not allowed (but you may get a credit towards the next Star Party). If you have genuine reasons for not being able to attend (e.g. illness, car breakdown), than it is most likely that a refund will be allowed. In any case, the treasurer appreciates being notified so that the place may be given to another participant. If you think that you are entitled to a refund, you'll need to contact the Treasurer to arrange the refund.

Q9. I registered and paid for T-shirts, but I couldn't come. What happens to the T-shirts?

A. We can post the T-shirts to you. The treasurer will send an email to both you and the merchandise officer to determine if you want the T-shirts mailed, and to check your mailing address. Please respond to this email so that we know your requirements.

Q10. I registered, but chose "Pay later" and then something came up and I didn't attend. Do I have to do anything?

A. No. If you are a "no pay, no show", your T-shirt orders will go back into stock on Sunday morning and your registration will be assigned as a no-show.
