Crago Observing

Crago Observatory is located about 100m past the fire trail at the northern end of Lt Bowen Rd, Bowen Mountain, near North Richmond.

Sky tours using the observatory telescope start around 1 hour after sunset and usually continue until midnight or later. When you arrive, park in the cul-de-sac at the end of Lieutenant Bowen Drive. Walk past the gate at the entrance to the fire trail and the observatory is located about 100m down the dirt road. Visitors are always welcome. There is no charge, but a gold coin donation is appreciated.

Observing dates are at http://www.asnsw.com/node/745.

More information about the facilities may be found at http://www.asnsw.com/node/746.

Crago Observatory has a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/CragoObs/. This page will be updated regarding whether or not the observatory will be open on the scheduled observing nights. Observing may be cancelled if it is raining or cloudy. Please check after 4pm on the relevant night.
