The Veil Nebula - 3 September, 1994 at Wiruna
8" Meade at f5.8, on a home made fork mount, guided by ST4.
Exposure: 70 minutes on hypered TechPan 2415.

The Medusa Nebula (PK205+14.1, Abell 21)
A very faint planetary nebula in Gemini.
It is visible in the Society's 17.5" Dobsonian at Ilford with the aid of a UHC filter,
however it was not visible through the scope used to take this shot.
Taken with 8" Meade SCT at f5.8 on a home made fork mount, tracking by ST4.
Exposure is 2 hours on hypered TP2415, on 30/1/95.

Lagoon Nebula (M 8)

40 minutes using hypersensitized Kodak Gold 400 flim at Wiruna

Orion Nebula (M 42)
Meade 8" at f 6.3 on homemade fork mount. SBIG ST-4 guided.
20 minutes using hypersensitized Kodak Gold 400 flim at Wiruna

Trifid Nebula (M 20)
Meade 8" at f 6.3 on homemade fork mount. SBIG ST-4 guided.
80 minutes using hyper-sensitized Fuji NPH 400 film at Wiruna.

Comet Hyakutake
Taken on 15 March, 1996 with a Canon 500mm f4.5L piggy backed on an 8" Meade with home made Fork mount, guided by an ST4.
Exposure 25 min at f4.5 on Hypered TP2415. Scanned with CanoScan FS2710.

NGC 7793 - 3 September, 1994
NGC 7793 is largish galaxy, measuring 10.5 x 6.2 in Sculptor, readliy visible in an 8" from a dark site.
It is a type Sd galaxy with no central bulge, multiple spiral arms and a near stellar nucleus.
Many background galaxies are visible in this photo.
Taken with 8" Meade SCT at f5.8 on a home made fork mount, tracking by ST4.
Exposure is 60 mins on hypered TP2415

NGC 5740 & NGC 5746 - 20 April, 1996
NGC 5740 is an inclined Sb(s)I-II galaxy that forms a close pair with NGC 5746, an edge on galaxy of type Sb - situated in far eastern Virgo.
Taken with a Meade 8" at f5.8, on a homemade fork mount, guided by an ST4.
Exposure: 70 minutes on Hypered TechPan 2415.

Centaurus A (NGC 5128)
Meade 8" at f 6.3 on homemade fork mount. SBIG ST-4 guided.
60 minutes using hyper-sensitized Tech Pan 2415 film at Wiruna.

NGC 4945 - 8 May, 1994
NGC 4945 is a large low surface brightness galaxy, 23' x 5.9' in size.
It is easily found in Centaurus as it is surrounded by 4 naked eye stars.
It is a type Sc galaxy, viewed nearly edge on, is very dusty and is quite nearby.
Taken with 8" Meade SCT at f5.8 on a home made fork mount, tracking by ST4.
Exposure is 60 min on hypered TP2415.

NGC 3109 - A Low Surface Brightness SmIV-type galaxy in Hydra.
Taken on 20 April, 1996, using an 8" Meade at f5.8, on a homemade fork mount, guided by an ST4.
Exposure: 105 minutes on Hypered TechPan 2415.
This galaxy lies just outside the local group, so is quite large in angular size.

NGC 300 - August, 1996
