70th Anniversary Luncheon at Curzon Hall
Members, their families and astronomical friends are invited to join the 70th Anniversary celebrations of the Astronomical Society of NSW Inc.
This is a special up-market event that is only held once every ten years. Ticket price includes chilled sparkling cuvée on arrival, followed by a full three-course luncheon in a unique venue with ample parking, excellent food and unlimited wine and beer.
The venue has been changed to the ground-floor Curzon Room at Curzon Hall, with disability access and seating for up to 60 people.
Our guest speakers will be:
Tim Patston (son of the society's founder, Gordon Patston) discussing The Origins of the Indigenous Planisphere; and
Fred Watson, who will present More than a Big White Dome - 50 years of the Anglo-Australian Telescope.
There is a fabulous door prize on offer: A Warrumbungle getaway, with two nights’ accommodation for two people at the Warrumbungles Mountain Motel, including dinner on the first night, plus stargazing with Donna the Astronomer at Milroy Observatory and a daytime tour of Siding Spring Observatory.
