Missing emails and BigPond Problem

Emails from the Database
Financial members should receive regular emails generated from the database. These emails are indentifiable by the box border and the Member Jungle logo at the bottom. Are you missing out? Members are emailed from the database at least once a month when Universe magazine comes out. Being bulk emails, some email providers automatically classify them as spam. If you haven't been seeing emails from the ASNSW for a month or more, please check your spam or junk mail box. There is no one magic solution to this problem. All we can advise is that you check your spam folder from time to time.
Emails from the Google Server and the BigPond Problem
The other issue we are experiencing (as at Novembere 2024) is that emails sent through our Google server (astroimaging list, outreach list, dinner list, IAU circulars list, and direct emails from the treasurer and secretary) bounce when sent to BigPond addresses. At some point, Telstra blacklisted us, so emails from @asnsw.com to @bigpond.com bounce. Some correspondence from the secretary or treasurer may be sent from private email accounts for this reason. There is nothing we can do about this problem. If you have a BigPond email account, it may be time to consider getting a new email account (or using a different email account if you already have one) for dealings with the ASNSW. Free accounts are available with many providers, such as Outlook, Yahoo and Gmail.
